I posted a few days ago about the ARP head stud install and I got alot of great info from some of the guys. Although someone mentioned that ARP states that you should torque down and loosen and repeat 5-6 times to ensure a proper seal. I wonder why everyone has all these instructions and I just got a box of bolts? Anyway. Well this evening, while on my 4th time around securing the left head, the #8 stud decides the screw the threads in my block over big time. Im going to pick up a helicoil kit tomorrow to solve the prob but do I really need to do this procedure 5-6 times????? The manual only requires you to torque - loosen - torque =finish. Also and I pray that it is but my head gasket should still be reusable right??? I guess the Z just loves us playing with her internals so much that she prolongs the process anyway she can (makes my women angry).
